Battlefield 3 is, no doubt, one of the best games available right now. It sold over 5 million copies the first week alone. However, the game has been receiving negative feedback since its release regarding too much lag from its buyers who play using their Xbox 360 consoles.
EA is well-known for having server issues, and not dealing with them as promptly as they should. Gamers who played Bad Company on the 360 will most likely agree with that. I’ve seen several articles, and reports claiming the fixes have been made, or will be done fairly soon. But, with their reputation and the notorious lag issues from previous Battlefield games, can we really expect much of a change?
It’s hard to say whether or not the lag-fest will ever completely disappear(let’s go with never), and poor connections play a big part in this. But, at the end of the day Battlefield 3 is still a pretty legit game, and it’s definitely worth the occasional jet lag to give it a shot. What are your opinions on the matter? Ive only played BF3 a few times and did not experience the lag but have heard all about it. Happens to my brother all the time on the 360. I think ill stick with MW3

To bad battlefiled is such an underdog game considering its amazing graphics and very different game style. They just can catch up to COD no matter how hard they try.

Battlefiled 3 is probably the shittiest game ive ever played. Its like hey am i playing a nintendo 64 game right now? JESUS someone teach ea sports how to not suck so much balls at making videogames. They do nothing but fail, just like their latest releast NFS run. EA sports has fallen to one good game only and even the popularity of that is declining and that game is madden
I don’t really experience any lag, especially when I set the server filter to my region (West Coast USA). I’m on PS3 and a 12/2 Comcast connection.
What Ive noticed during my (pretty extensive) play time on the 360 is that the noticeable lag is mostly caused by people from the other side of the world joining the wrong servers… and most are put there by ‘Quick Match’. In my case it’s usually Americans/Canadians/Mexicans in European servers that I play in.
A lot of the lag issues could be solved by simply removing the ‘Quick Match’ option on consoles. Make everyone use the server browser. I really don’t see the need for a quick match option. At the very least the server region information should be shown as each map loads, so people can see instantly if they’ve been put into the wrong server for their location.
Get better internet or get in a better server. I lag much less in BF3 than in any cod game even when the host is my friend down the street with the same isp and down/up speeds and ping as me.
