As you can see in the demo presented first at the Microsoft conference this morning during 2012′s E3 , Master Chief is fighting a NEW alien force which according to the end of the demo, is an ancient ‘evil’ which has awakened. Also noted, Master Chief picks up a weapon used by this particular alien force which disintegrates enemies upon penetration of what looks like quick spurts of orange energy. The enemies are able to make energy shields appear with the flick of a hand, and they can also disapparate and appear right in front of you within a matter of seconds. For an ‘ancient’ evil these aliens seem very high-tech, and while it’s exciting to see some old weapons (what appears to be a BR in the beginning) integrated back into the game, it’s also exciting to see something new. It’s also quite apparent that both Master Chief and Cortana have undergone a small overhaul in appearance. I personally can’t wait to get my hands on this game!
